Welcome to Peace Library System

The PLS is a regional library system with a service area that covers over 88,000 square miles of Northwestern Alberta with a current population of over 144,000 in 35 member municipalities served by 38 member public libraries.

New Minister for Libraries
Premier Ed Stelmach named his new cabinet team on January 13, 2010. Hector Goudreau, MLA for Dunvegan-Central Peace, has been appointed Minister of Municipal Affairs. Former Minister Ray Danyluk has moved to Infrastructure.

Spring Author Tour

We are pleased to announce Cyndi Sand-Eveland as our spring author on tour! Originally from Valleyview, Ms. Sand-Eveland had her first children’s book, Dear Toni, published in 2008. From April 26^th to 29^th, she will be visiting the communities of Spirit River, Fairview, Berwyn, Grimshaw, Hines Creek, Worsley, Cleardale and Grande Prairie.
