Rural Libraries Conference

Every year, over 150 delegates from school and public libraries in northern Alberta, northern British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories attend Peace Library System's Rural Libraries Conference. The conference, held in late September each year, is an excellent professional development opportunity during which delegates will have the chance to network, visit an exhibitor tradeshow, and attend a variety of sessions, on topics ranging from programming to board relations to collection development.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis and extended physical distancing restrictions, the 2021 Rural Libraries Conference will not take place in-person. Instead, Peace Library System will again partner with other library organizations in Alberta for a virtual conference.

2021 Virtual Conference

Parkland Regional Library System, The Alberta Library, Peace Library System & Yellowhead Regional Library are pleased to announce their second joint conference: Stronger Together.

Stronger Together was the first fully virtual conference for the Alberta public library community and was successful beyond our wildest expectations, with hundreds of attendees from across Alberta and around the world. We look forward to building on last year's success by demonstrating how libraries leverage collaboration and teamwork to thrive amid adversity.

Registration will again be free and open to everyone who is passionate about the power of libraries.
