As of 16 March 2021, RBdigital's collection of eAudiobooks, eComics, and eMagazines are now available on the OverDrive website and Libby app!
Some quick FAQs
- Why? The parent company of OverDrive purchased RBdigital in 2019 which resulted in the transition of their content onto OverDrive and Libby to reduce the need for patrons to be split between two apps and websites.
- What about your old eMagazines borrowed on RBdigital? The issues will NOT be transferred over to your OverDrive account. They will remain available on your RBdigital account until the end of March 2021 to give patrons a few weeks to go to OverDrive and borrow the eMagazine issues.
- How do I sign in on OverDrive? OverDrive gives patrons access by signing in with their library barcode and pin. You do not sign in with your RBdigital login credentials.
- Does auto-checkout of eMagazines still work? No. OverDrive does not currently support this feature.
- Are eMagazines still available without a return date? Sort of. eMagazine issues are borrowed for 21 days on OverDrive but there is no limit to the number of copies per issue so you can simply renew an issue if you need to.
- How do you find the eMagazines on OverDrive? You do this a few ways! You can search the publication name in the basic search. On the OverDrive website, select "Subjects" on the top left and select "Magazines" as your format. On the mobile app Libby, select "Preferences" on the top left and set "Magazines" as your format.
