One eRead Canada campaign begins today! The title for this year is Tatouine by Jean-Christophe Réhel

What is One eRead Canada?

One eRead Canada is an annual digital, bilingual, cross-Canada book club initiated and supported by the Canadian Urban Libraries Council (CULC) to help Canadian public libraries promote digital reading awareness and issues. The campaign runs from April 1st-30th, 2023. Tatouine will be available in English and French without holds or waitlists on OverDrivecloudLibrary, and Read Alberta eBooks for cardholders of participating libraries.

What is Tatouine about?

A young poet daydreams of leaving his suburban life just outside of Montreal and escaping to the fictional Star Wars planet that gives the book its name. This fantasy helps provide an outlet to the boredom he experiences while working minimum-wage jobs or receiving another treatment for cystic fibrosis. Told through the internal monologue of the unnamed poet, the book mixes melancholy and humour to create a vibrant portrait about living with a disability.
