Welcome to our new Member Services Assistant, Barbara Johnson!

News Date:
03 July 2019

Peace Library System is very pleased to announce that Barbara Johnson accepted the position of Member Services Assistant effective June 26, 2019. Barbara assists the consultants with programs and projects, assists IT staff with basic Polaris and software troubleshooting, circulates and maintains the in-house rotating collections, and provides administrative support in other areas.

Barbara was the library manager at Elmworth Community Library for six years and brings a wealth of library and programming experience to her new position. She is very familiar with the circulation and reporting aspects of Polaris and has a great deal of experience with Excel and other software programs. She is very customer-focussed and is looking forward to assisting PLS staff and member library staff.

Barbara completed three days of training with Rae Weniger at the end of June, prior to Rae’s retirement.  Staff held a retirement BBQ for Rae on June 28 with speeches and gifts (Rae did the BBQ-ing! Her final gift to us!). We thank Rae for her 10 years of dedicated service to Peace Library System libraries and wish her all the best in her retirement.
