Applications for Young Canada Works

The Canadian Library Association, in partnership with the Department of Canadian Heritage, is pleased to announce the launch of Young Canada Works (YCW) summer student and graduate internship programs for 2014-2015.
 
In 2013, the Canadian Library Association assisted the Canadian library Community in the creation of 4 internship positions and 109 summer positions such as, Reading Club Coordinators, Library Assistant, Digitization Assistant, Program Coordinator and Special Collections Intern, among many others.
 
Applications for both YCW in Heritage Organizations and YCW at Building Careers in Heritage will be accepted until February 3, 2014. All applications must be completed online at http://www.pch.gc.ca/eng/1358260464627/1358260720464.

2014 Minister's Awards Deadline

Update for Android TRACpac App

Let your patrons know! An update for the TRACpac app for Android is available in the Google Play Store. The update will now allow the device to store patron barcodes! iPhone users can download the same app in the App Store, which includes the barcode feature. If you'd like to advertise the TRACpac app at your library, download the promotional postcards.

Training Opportunities for 2014

PLS staff are committed to providing training and assistance to member libraries staff, and to that end, in 2014 we are planning regularly scheduled training webinars on a variety of topics.

So far, we have created a training schedule for the months of January, February, and March.  You can view the schedule at http://www.peacelibrarysystem.ab.ca/calendars-and-schedules.

As training dates approach, we will be sending out emails to invite you to sign up for the training sessions that you wish to attend.
