New Menu Layout

12 March 2018

We have reorganized our main menu to ensure easy access to our new information resource pages for our public libraries and their staff!

Take note of the Serving Indigenous Communities tab on the top menu. You can also find this page under the Training Toolkit-->Inclusive Services.

Peace Library System has also created a Services to LGBTQ+ Patrons page also located under the Training Toolkit-->Inclusive Services.

Both of these new pages will be kept up to date as new resources become available along with a quarterly update to the "New & Upcoming Releases" display.

Congratulations to Our Excellence Award Winners!

23 October 2017

Peace Library System would like to congratulate the winners of the 2017 Excellence in Library Service Awards, Beaverlodge Public Library and Elmworth Community Library. The award winners were announced on September 21 at the Rural Libraries Conference.

Beaverlodge Public Library was the recipient of the 2017 Excellence in Library Service award for public library programs and services for their Craft Beer Experience program from their Loud at the Library series. New friends were made and long-time friends created new memories. People are still talking about it months later! The Beaverlodge Public Library has gained new patrons as a result of this special event and attendees went away with a keen understanding that the modern library is one of the hubs of the community where people gather, learn, create new experiences, contribute to the development of a vibrant community, and just have fun.

Elmworth Community Library was the recipient of the 2017 Excellence in Library Service award for public library promotions. The promotional efforts at Elmworth Community Library means it does not just meet the literary and educational needs of its patrons, but it has become a valued meeting place in the community and an important partner with other community organisations. Barbara’s willingness to consider and then implement many ideas and suggestions from patrons and the larger library community, and to then reach out to the rest of the larger community to make them aware of what’s happening at the library, has translated into an active and appealing atmosphere at Elmworth Community Library.
