Read Alberta Books Travelling Display

About the Display
The Read Alberta Books Travelling Display was developed in partnership with the Writers’ Guild of Alberta and the Book Publishers Association of Alberta, with promotional materials adapted from Parkland Regional Library.

Blocks 1 & 2 feature 2014 nominees and winners from the WGA’s Alberta Literary Awards and the BPAA’s Alberta Book Publishing Awards. A total of 40 books were donated to Peace Library System. These books were split into two blocks of 20 titles each. Each block can be borrowed for three months for your library's patrons to enjoy, before it must be sent back to Peace Library System. Blocks 3 & 4 feature 2015 nominees and winners from the WGA’s Alberta Literary Awards and the BPAA’s Alberta Book Publishing Awards. A total of 35 books were donated to Peace Library System. These books were split into two blocks of 17 and 18 titles each. Each block can be borrowed for three months for your library's patrons to enjoy, before it must be sent back to Peace Library System. Blocks 5 & 6 feature 2016 nominees and winners from the WGA’s Alberta Literary Awards and the BPAA’s Alberta Book Publishing Awards. A total of 41 books were donated to Peace Library System. These books were split into two blocks of 20 and 21 titles each. Each block can be borrowed for three months for your library's patrons to enjoy, before it must be sent back to Peace Library System. How to Participate

1. Book It:
Book the travelling display by emailing Rae Weniger. The display is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of two libraries able to book the display at one time. Please include your name and contact information, as well as library name in the email.
 
2. Receive It:

Your library will receive the display kit on your van run or in the mail (for mail-only libraries). The kit includes:

  • A selection of 20 titles from the display 
  • Promotional posters
  • Promotional materials from Writers’ Guild of Alberta and Book Publishers Association of Alberta
  • A catalogue of items in the display
  • Four book display stands and two book ends to assist you in setting up your display

3. Use It:
Set up the display in your library. Add related books from your own collection. Advertise the new display in your library communications. Check out titles to patrons. Keep the display rack as full as possible.
 
4. Return It:

Return display materials to Peace Library System on or before the due date.
