  • Slave Lake Library is Now Open!  (posted January 23)
January 23, 2012 marks the official re-opening of The Rotary Club of Slave Lake Public Library! Their items are now visible in TRACpac and the library has returned as a pick up location. They are set up to receive ILLs – however, to give them a bit of time to get on their feet, they will not be filling hold requests from other libraries until the middle of February. This has been noted in Polaris, so there should not be any holds appearing and/or lingering in their request manager.

The library’s hours are Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 5:00. They will be adding evening hours (5:00 to 8:00 pm) in the near future.

The library’s address and phone number have not changed. They can still be reached at 1 (780) 849-5250 or P.O. Box 540, Slave Lake, AB T0G 2A0. Anne Moore is the library manager.

    Welcome back, Slave Lake!

  • Woking and Bonanza Libraries Now Open (posted January 13)
Peace Library System has two new libraries that opened their doors to the public for the first time on December 17, 2011.  Bonanza Municipal Library (ABON) – library manager, Michele Kettles, and Woking Municipal Library (AWO) – library manager, Shauna Kuhar.

At present, the libraries do not have collections to speak of—most of their collections are still on order – however, their patrons will be requesting items through TRACpac, and so you may receive requests in your Request Manager for these libraries.  Both libraries are System van run libraries, although they have also been entered into the Canada Post Shipping Tool in case Mail-Only libraries need to send them items to fulfill requests.
